What is an Independent Living Facility?
Seniors who don't want to live on their own in an apartment or house, but want the conveniences of living within a community setting that provides services and amenities such as housekeeping, social activities, dining, transportation, security, or the option of assistance with daily tasks or medical care if they need it later on.
Independent Living communities provide carefree, maintenance-free lifestyles for active seniors. They exist to serve the every need of residents, just as a hotel concierge does. Not only do more options come standard; for an affordable fee, they can provide just about any service you require. You decide what you need, they are there to help.
Often times, Independent Living facilities have private "Cottages" that can serve as a home. These cottages may come equipped with cooking utilities, separated bedrooms and a full sized living room. Nursing care is often not included with pricing, and would require additional planning. Some Independent living Communities offer private rooms inside of the main building. these most resemble apartment complexes.
